A full moon with big tides has brought the schools of Salmon close in along the Venus Bay Beaches and at the entrance to Anderson Inlet.
Good sized salmon such as this one caught by Tom. He fished Beach 3 and this 2.5 kg fish took a whole a pilchard on his first cast last Sunday.
The big blow has created great formations of gutters and holes to cast to the fish. Spend some time at low tide to see the most productive areas.
Now is a good time to start spinning your metal lures as well off the beaches at Venus Bay and the usual spots at Inverloch..Pensioners Point and the Angling Club on Anderson Inlet. Soft plastics will also produce good results by casting on the flats and aggressively ripping it back towards the channels.White bait and blue bait imitations will attract fish.
Kayakers and boaters can focus on the main channel from Inverloch across to the the Snags and up to Stevies Gutter.
